2015 Legacy Concept AND 2015 WRX to be Revealed at LA Auto Show

2015 SUBARU LEGACY CONCEPT TO MAKE WORLD DEBUT AT LOS ANGELES AUTO SHOW

We were already counting down the days to the 2013 LA Auto Show when we thought it was just one big reveal. But now Subaru's amped up the expectation, and on November 20, 2013, we will not only see the all-new 2015 WRX for the first time, but also the 2015 Subaru Legacy concept.
2015 Subaru Legacy Concept

Yup, it's gonna be a big day.

Subaru of America, Inc. announced just yesterday that they will debut the Subaru LEGACY CONCEPT at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show - only 5 days from now.

2015 Subaru Legacy Concept InteriorThis new LEGACY CONCEPT celebrates the 25th anniversary of the Subaru Legacy and provides a look at the styling cues for future Legacy models. What do we think? It looks pretty rad. Check out all the tech they've added to the interior!

2015 Subaru Legacy Concept ExteriorAdorned with a custom Ocean Silver Metallic paint scheme, the LEGACY CONCEPT features a more coupe-like silhouette. The LEGACY CONCEPT is a modern interpretation of the Legacy and features a more distinguished front design with a new hexagonal grille and a sharper hawk-eye headlamp design than the 2014 Subaru Legacy model currently available.

Flared wheel arches cover 21-inch wheels and hint at the standard Subaru Symmetrical all-wheel drive drivetrain. A pronounced character line flows into the short rear deck and ends in the rear tail lamps. The tail lamps echo the hawk-eye headlamp design and enhance the solidity of the overall design.

Meet Our Sales Manager, John Henning!

Meet John Henning, a Lehigh grad and father of seven is best described by the Ben & Jerry's flavor Chubby Hubby. This baseball and football lover enjoys fishing and can also shoot basketball free throws with either hand. The best concert he's ever been to was Alvin Lee at the Fillmore in East Greenwich Village in 1970, and his favorite song is You're Still the One, by Orleans.

His favorite Vermont destination is his home, but he enjoys a good meal at L'Amante in Burlington; his restaurant of choice. John currently drives a Subaru Impreza, but if he could have any car it would be the new 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Limited. If he could describe himself as one vehicle, it'd be the Subaru Outback, because it's practical, dependable and useful. Come see John at Twin City Subaru today!

New Subaru Hybrid to be Released in November

A 2014 Subaru Hybrid will be on dealership lots Nov. 1, 2013!

Subaru is ready to debut its first hybrid at the New York Auto Show this March. Subaru of America Director of Product Management and Coordination Kenichi Yamamoto has acknowledged that a Subaru hybrid is indeed on its way.

Rumor has it that the hybrid drivetrain will be featured on the 2014 Forester, but it's also speculated that it will be available on the Impreza and BRZ later on as well. The photo on the right is of the Advanced Tourer Concept hybrid Subaru that was shown at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show.

We think this is an awesome step for Subaru to take. They're already amazing cars; adding better fuel economy and a hybrid drivetrain will just be another great improvement. In the meantime, be sure to view our already-spectacular 2013 Subaru inventory here!

Subaru Launches Driving Difficulty Index Map with Weather.com

Click image to see more detail!
The Weather Channel and Subaru have partnered up to give drivers a tool for gauging driving difficulty before braving the roads. According to Subaru, the Weather Channel has a new layer on its online maps that is called the Driving Difficulty Index, where drivers can pull up an interactive weather map to see what level of difficulty they'll have traveling in the current conditions.

"The index is based on various factors including ice, snow, ponding of water, high winds, and low visibility," according to the article in technology tell. "When selected by the user, the Driving Difficulty Index map shows users where difficult driving conditions are present."

Weather Company VP of Weather Analytics Paul Walsh said that the Driving Difficulty Index is a partnership that's unique to the two brands, due to their shared focus and expertise on driving safety in trying weather conditions. Subaru is the only automaker whose models are all IIHS Top Safety Picks.

Subaru's half of the bargain is that they get advertising space on all of the maps and will also offer Car Clinic video segments and tips to aid drivers in improving their driving safety.

Two features we do know will be included are Harman International's Aha online services, which gives access to many online services, including CBS Radio, Facebook, and Twitter, as well as Subaru's all-new EyeSight safety system.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek Review & CVT 101

I recently found a new review on Auto 123 of the XV Crosstrek's Sport Package and thought it'd be a good read for those interested in the all-new Subaru model. Before I go into more detail, the long and short of it is that the reviewer loved the car, save for the continuously variable transmission (CVT).

As some of you may know, this reaction to CVTs is not uncommon; when you first drive one after having never driven one before it can feel like the vehicle is a bit off. It's kind of the feeling you get when you drive a friend's car who has really touchy breaks - it takes a little getting used to. So if you're looking for a car for the feel of its acceleration alone, maybe a CVT isn't the one! But most (all) people looking at Subarus aren't looking for just acceleration, so let's talk about the advantages of a CVT:

CVT is more or less its name; it gives the vehicle the ability to seamlessly switch between gears while driving. For more info on how it works, see Edmund's explanation here. The reason it's getting so popular now is because a CVT works to keep the vehicle's engine is its optimum power range, therefore increasing efficiency as well as gas mileage. It can give a car a gain of 1-2 mpg depending on how you drive.

Now back to the review! The reviewer said that the XV Crosstrek had a "friendly cabin", meaning it was extremely functional and had an easy to operate system. It has lots of space and a large trunk, as well as great outward visibility due to its low shoulder line.

The reviewer's favorite parts is the Symmetrical AWD, "Subaru’s and the 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek’s transparent and highly efficient Symmetrical AWD is without a doubt any driver’s biggest ally in wintery months, along with a good set of winter tires. Traction and drivetrain reactions are immediate. To try it is to adopt it."

If you'd like to see the detailed review, please do so here! And be sure to take a look at our 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek inventory here.
